[image: University of Virginia] To the University Community, This is a notice that on Tuesday, February 6th, the University will test all components of its emergency notification system *from 10:50-11:00am.* When the test is over, a ?test complete? message will be issued. *UVA?s siren and public address system will be included in the test.* All current students, faculty, staff, and UVA Health team members with a valid UVA email account will automatically receive an email alert. Students, faculty, staff, and UVA Health team members who provided a phone number during orientation or onboarding will also automatically receive a text alert. UVA Alerts to international mobile phone numbers are delivered on a best-effort basis. To have an international mobile phone number added, a current UVA student, faculty, or staff member must add the mobile number(s). They can do this by going to the UVA Alerts login page, https://www.getrave.com/login/uva . On the ?My Account? page, there is a field for adding mobile phone numbers. An international number must be added using ?+? then the country code and full phone number, using integers only. For example: +440173671000. *Initiating the Test * At 10:50 am, you will receive a UVA Alerts Emergency Notification System test message through one or more of the channels below. No action is required on your part when you receive the test message. - *Automatic email to UVA Community *? All current students, faculty, staff, and UVA Health Team Members with a valid UVA email account will automatically receive an email message. - *Automatic text to UVA Community ? *Current students, faculty, staff, and UVA Health team members who provided a phone number during orientation or onboarding will automatically receive a text message. (If you do not receive the test alert text, please sign into your UVA Alerts account and confirm that your mobile phone number is accurately listed.) - *Text message (public opt-in)* ? Members of the public who sign up for UVA Alerts via SMS short code will receive a text message. - *Digital Screens + LED Screens* ? Most screens in public areas and classrooms will display the test message. - *Websites* ? The UVA homepage , UVA emergency homepage , and UVA Police Department homepage will display the test message. - *Desktop* ? Computers with Alertus software installed that are connected to the UVA network will display the test message. (Alertus is automatically installed on all classroom and UVA Health-imaged computers.) - *X (formerly Twitter)* ? @UVA_EM , @HoosSafe and @UVAPolice will post the test message. - *Guardian Mobile Safety app *? Faculty, staff, and students who have the Guardian app with push notifications turned on will receive a test notification. - *VOCERA Badge and app ?* Select VOCERA badges and phone applications in UVA Health will receive the test message. - *Siren and Public Address *? The siren and public address system will be heard from many outdoor locations on and near Grounds. *Completing the Test * At 11:00 am, a UVA Alerts ?test complete? message will be sent through these same channels.
